Two of TV's most alluring actresses, Jill Hennessy and Elisha Cuthbert, have been named as having the best heads in the business – by an association of Canada's hairstylists.

The brunette star of Crossing Jordan and the blonde who plays Kim Bauer in 24 were voted Best Style With Substance and Sexiest Hair respectively at the Sixth Annual Best Canadian Celebrity Hair Awards.

Elisha, 23, will be glad to have her golden locks approved after the wildly improbable storylines involving her on-screen character came in for some fairly heavy flak recently. "I know a lot of (fans) were frazzled about it," says the Calgary-born actress, "but I think now Kim is coming back in an intelligent way that makes sense for the show."

Not a sign of any frazz on her pretty head, though, and 'Dr Jordan' herself also got a resounding vote of approval for her "bold, solid colour and versatile, healthy hair", as well as being hailed as a "classy woman all round".

And on the guy side, Avril Lavigne's beau, rocker Deryck Whibley, and JUNO nominee Kalan Porter were among the winners. Admitting that he usually just leaves his hair as it is each morning – "I use the natural grease" - Sum 41 lead singer Deryck seemed pleased by his accolade for Most Individual And Unique Hairstyle.

Medicine Hat's Kalan carried off the palm for Best Hair On A Musician.
