Pop star Robbie Williams had some exciting news to share with Take That fans this week as he attended a preview performance of his pal Jonathan Wilkes performing in We Will Rock You. The singer gave the strongest indication yet pop's most highly-awaited reunion could be in sight, confirming he's ready to rejoin Take That, 14 years after his departure.

The 35-year-old, who was accompanied to the theatre show by his US actress girlfriend Ayda Field, has healed his rift with Gary Barlow and says his old band mates want him back. "I'm in regular contact with them and it's looking more likely by the week," Robbie told the Daily Mirror. "The lads all seem up for it. I think it would be fun."

Robbie is just waiting for the green light from songwriter Gary. "The time could be right if Gary calls," said the star, who recently moved back to the UK from Los Angeles. "Let's see what happens, but my head's in the right place."

If the reunion goes ahead, it could even be in the coming months. "It would make sense for it to happen over the next year," says the Stoke-on-Trent-born performer.
