The 28-year-old brunette is known on the celeb circuit after being romantically linked to American TV host Ryan Seacrest and actor and musician Jesse McCartney. Despite his confession, David says he wasn't unfaithful to Courteney. "Part of the terms of our separation was that I was allowed to see other people and so was she," the 39-year-old explained. During his spot on the radio, David was asked about reports Courteney has also moved on – with her Cougar Town co-star, Brian Van Holt (below). He said that as far as he knew the pair were involved in an "emotional affair", but he didn't know if it had yet become physical.

The Scream star talked candidly about the break up, revealing he and his wife hadn't been intimate for four months. "I completely understand," he said. "She's in a place of wanting to be real and emotional... If it doesn't feel right, she doesn't feel like bonding in that way," he said. Forty-six-year-old Courteney – who he refers to as "an amazing woman" - wants him to grow up, he says. "She says that to me: 'I don't wanna be your mother anymore.' I appreciated that. I respected that. I've been going to therapy. I'm trying to grow up." David also spoke about how he decided to be honest about the marriage troubles with the couple's six-year-old daughter Coco. We went to a beach and had a picnic," he said. "[I] explained to her that we're grownups, and a lot of the time when grownups are growing up, they need to figure out their lives. ... Sometimes that takes each other having a little space." When Coco asked if that meant her parents were divorcing, he responded: "No, We're not getting a divorce. "We're just taking some time apart to get to know ourselves better and get to know what we want out of our mate better."
