It was announced on Monday that Aishwarya, 38, has been made an ambassador for the United Nations AIDS agency.

Christy also supports the UN as US Delegate to their Commission on the Status of Women.
The model mum, who has a four-year-old son with Saving Private Ryan actor Ed Burns, has been involved in humanitarian causes since 2005.
Joining the glam pair at the Big Apple dinner, were British model Lily Cole, Will & Grace star Debra Messing and Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit.
