Beth Tweddle "Boleroed" to victory on this year's series of Dancing On Ice. The Olympic medal-winning gymnast can now add another ribbon to her bow as she was crowned the show's winner on Sunday. Competing against Eastenders actor Matt Lapinskas for the title, Beth secured a win with a highly impressive performance of the Bolero, the iconic routine that was coined by former Olympian skaters and show mentors Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

Completely astounded by Beth's performance, head judge Robin Cousins described the gymnast's performance as "electric". "Intense and electric off the ice. The focus between the two of you was right from the word go and all the way through to the end," said the panelist. In an even more shocking turn of events, acerbic judge Jason Gardiner couldn’t praise skating duo Beth and Dan enough. "You are a finalist- and a fantastic finalist in this competition. That was beautiful," said the choreographer. Overwhelmed by the victory, Beth said that she was "speechless", describing the win as "amazing".

"All credit goes to Matt," said the star, thanking her good-hearted rival. Although he missed out on the winning trophy, actor Matt said that he had thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and credited his stellar relationship with dance partner Brianne Delcourt as his main inspiration. "She's one in a million. I'll never find another one like her," said the star. And although he missed out in securing a final slot, third place contestant Luke Campbell smashed the show's records with a 34.5 score for his wild west themed performance. Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie will also be taking home a prize find from her skating experience. The actress has admitted that her and skate partner Sylvian Longchambon are now a happy couple. When asked by presenter Christine Bleakley if she was allowed to say love was in the air, Samia said: "Yeah, we're allowed to say that."
