Jessica Ennis married her childhood sweetheart, Andy Hill, in a picturesque Derbyshire ceremony on Saturday. An excited crowd of well-wishers gathered outside St Michael and All Angels church in Hathersage to greet the bride and breaking into applause when Jessica arrived with her family. Jessica, 27, wore a sleeveless V-necked  wedding gown, complete with a full-length veil. The ivory dress, with a ruffle tulle skirt, was the perfect match for her bouquet of cream and pink roses.

Andy, a construction site manager who has been with Jessica for more than eight years, wore a dark grey suit, a pink tie and handkerchief.

The happy couple met when they were teenagers at King Ecbert School in Dore, Sheffield and have been engaged since 2010."He was saying all these lovely things," Jessica exclusively told HELLO! Magazine just after Andy proposed at the couple's Sheffield home on Christmas Eve. "I thought, 'It really sounds like he's going to propose, but he can't be,'""Then he got the ring out of his pocket," she added. "It was an amazing feeling.'""You had a little tear in your eye," Andy said to his then bride-to-be. "We've always talked about it and it just felt like the time was right. Christmas is quite special for me and Jess."

"I thought he was really good looking and out of my league," recalled Jessica on how their relationship started out. "Even though we were quite young, I knew that I was going to fall in love with him and be spending a long time with him. "After the ceremony, which was attended by around 100 guests, Jessica and Andy beamed as they headed to their reception to the sound of the Beatles' classic, All You Need Is Love."Congratulations are in order for @J_Ennis who married childhood sweetheart Andy Hill today," tweeted the British Athletics association to Jessica whose gold medal winning heptathlon also earned her a personal best and a national record in July.
