David Beckham showed off the footwork skills that he is so famous for on Wednesday afternoon, winning first place at his son Cruz’s school sports day race. The legendary footballer raced the 100m sprint at the annual summer sports day, scooping gold in front of a cheering crowd, his proud wife Victoria and excited children Cruz and Harper.

Cool dad-of-four David, who wore jeans, a navy sweater and a red baseball cap placed backwards, was clearly delighted with his win as he showed off the gold medal around his neck after the race.

Fashion designer Victoria, 39, was also game for family fun, taking part in the mum's race, running alongside the other mothers such as her fashionable friend Stella McCartney. The ex Spice Girl was prepared for the race with her hair scraped back into a ponytail and Aviator shades.

She kicked off her heels and ran in a pair of designer flared jeans, a white top and black leather jacket. Though she gave it her all, Victoria was pipped to the post by fellow fashion designer Stella, 41, who also ran the race barefoot.

With all the running around that mum Victoria does in juggling her career and her four children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, she still needed to take a moment to catch her breath after the sprint, while her friend Stella patted her on the back.

Other parents at the London school said that the Beckhams, who recently relocated to the capital after living in LA for several years, were very down-to-earth and just like the other parents at the fun day.

"They were like just any other mum and dad," one onlooker told The Sun. "But Becks easily won the race. He beat the other dads by miles. "David certainly showed that he was just like any other dad at sports day, capturing all the fun on his video camera.
