New York resident Katie Holmes has swapped the streets of Manhattan for the rolling plains of South Africa – and the actress is loving every minute.
The mum-of-one has been documenting her adventure on Twitter, including one selfie with a zebra in the background.
In another, she captured a tranquil shore line, and captioned the image: "Can't get over how beautiful it is here in South Africa."
The former Mrs Cruise is touring the country while she's there to film The Giver with Alexander Skarsgard and Taylor Swift.
The first photo she posted on her newly opened Twitter account on 25 October showed the actress with the singer and other cast members. "Loving South Africa," she wrote with the picture.
Later she posted: "On set today filming the Giver. Love working with director Phil Noyce am so grateful for such a wonderful experience."
The film is based on the popular sci-fi book of the same name and follows the story of Jonas, a 12-year-old boy living in the future.
He is chosen as the 'receiver of memory' - and will inherit all the past memories from the time before society changed into 'the sameness' - a state without pain or strife or emotional depth.
While Katie is in South Africa she has also taken the opportunity to introduce daughter Suri to the country's wildlife.
The 34-year-old took the seven-year-old to the Aquila Game Reserve outside of Cape Town where they checked out elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, rhinos and leopards.
