Cameron Diaz has spoken out about her decision not to have children.
The 41-year-old actress, who is currently dating Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden, revealed that she hasn't been ready to face the responsibility.
"It's so much more work to have children," Cameron told Esquire magazine. "To have lives besides your own that you are responsible for – I didn't take that on.
"That did make things easier for me. A baby – that's all day, every day for eighteen years. I like protecting people, but I was never drawn to being a mother."
The age-defying beauty, whose upcoming films include Sex Tape in which she stars opposite Jason Segel, added that she wasn't worried about getting older.
"I like being 41," said Cameron. "I love it. So much just falls away. Fear, mostly. It's the best age. That's when a woman knows how to work things, or she doesn't care about that anymore.
"You just stop being afraid. You don't worry about what men think. You just don't worry that time registers anything awful."

Cameron and her 35-year-old musician boyfriend were first romantically linked in May, but kept their blossoming relationship on the down low.
After weeks of speculation, the couple confirmed that they were an item when they were spotted cosying up to each other in New York City.
"Cameron seems very happy with Benji," an insider previously told People. "He is the nicest guy and treats her like a lady."

It is thought that Benji's sister-in-law Nicole Richie played matchmaker for the couple; Cameron and Nicole have been good friends for some time now, and it was likely that Nicole introduced the actress to her husband Joel Madden's twin.
Benji is the first high-profile beau Cameron has had since splitting from New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez back in September 2011. Her other exes include Justin Timberlake and Jared Leto.
