George Clooney waves goodbye to the single life after leading star-studded boat procession to wedding party

Venice was alive with excitement on Saturday night as George Clooney, joined by A-list friends and family, made his final journey as a bachelor along the Grand Canal.Crowds who had lined the waterfront cheered and called his name as the Hollywood heart-throb boarded the boat which would take him to his bride-to-be Amal Alamuddin, who was waiting at the Aman Hotel. Ever the joker, the actor pulled humorous faces as he made his way to the ceremony. Once arriving at his destination, the star gave a final wave and rubbed his hands together with excitement before disappearing inside.

Guests, many of whom stayed in the five-star Cipriani hotel, also making the journey by water taxi included Cindy Crawford, who wore a striking purple halter neck dress, and her husband Rande Gerber. Emily Blunt, Anna Wintour, Bill Murray, Matt Damon and Bono were also there to see the couple say "I do" at the luxury Aman Hotel. The groom's spokesperson confirmed to HELLO! Online: "George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin were married today (Sept. 27) in a private ceremony in Venice, Italy." George's close friend Walter Veltroni, the former mayor of Rome, officiated the sunset ceremony.
