Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis made his fans very happy this week when he decided to make his Instagram profile public. To the delight of his supporters, the 25-year-old decided to change the setting of his account – ten months after first opening it – unveiling 23 brand new photos in the process.
Matthew has come a long way since his days playing Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter franchise, and his physical transformation hasn't gone unnoticed by his admirers. Needless to say, the chance to see personal photos of the favourite heart-throb caused something of a media frenzy, and the Leeds-born star has already accumulated more than 130,000 followers.
One of the snapshots shows the actor on a golf buggy with his Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton, aka Draco Malfoy, while another shows him posing with a huge snake around his shoulders.
There are also a number of pictures taken behind the scenes of his comedy TV show Bluestone 42 – which Emma Watson recently praised on Twitter.
The actress, who famously played Hermione Granger, shared a photo of Matthew in character as Corporal Gordon 'Towerblock' House last Friday, telling her followers, "He looks very serious here but is hilarious in #Bluestone 42. Watch @Mattdavelewis on @BBCthree Monday @ 10pm. So good!!"
Her post promoted a number of fans to comment on Matthew's rugged new look. "I still can't believe he was Neville! Man, Matthew aged well," one tweeted, while another wrote, "A world away from Neville Longbottom and his toad!"
Bluestone 42 is a BBC comedy series that follows a group of soldiers serving in a bomb disposal detachment in Afghanistan. Matthew plays Corporal Gordon House, AKA Tower Block, a butcher's son from Armley, very proud of his Yorkshire heritage. The show is currently into its third series.
