He's had a love of cars all his life so when the Long Beach Formula E competition for electric cars held its inaugural event in Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio raced to be there. The environmentalist wasn't the only famous face all revved up by the event though, with fellow film star Adrien Brody joining him to cheer on the Venturi team - which is co-owned by Leonardo.

The pair later moved the party to a lavish gala dinner co-hosted by Variety magazine and held at Hollywood's famous Chateau Marmont hotel. The glitzy guest list also included Victoria's Secret model Irina Shayk, supermodel Elaine Irwin, actress Jaime King, and Tamara Beckwith.

"The entire lobby had been transformed into a sexy cocktail party with trays of chilled champagne ready to help the party get off the ground," Tamara revealed exclusively to HELLO! Magazine.

"The room hushed as Leonardo DiCaprio arrived with his bearded entourage and Lukas Haass, one of his oldest friends. Not that you could see much of any of them as they all have extraordinary heavy beards.

"Irina Shayk was looking very demure in a black sheer Missoni dress in stark contrast to Adrien Brody who was in what can only be described as a Christmas Day sweater."

Guests sipped champagne ahead of a "naughty and tasty" dinner in the hotel’s candlelit garden at the bash, before Spanish Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag made a speech calling the event "the race of the future."

Formula E will soon be heading off to Monaco for the eighth round of the 2015 championship, and there's a good chance fans of the sport will catch a glimpse of Monaco's royals, including Prince Albert and his wife Princess Charlene. The pair are avid fans of motor racing, and in 2013 drove the ceremonial lap of honour that began the first day of Formula 1 proceedings.

Formula E will be supporting two charities in Monaco, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and One Drop, which raise awareness on water issues.
