Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has spoken of her grief after losing her father-in-law. Adding to her heartache, the star had to disclose the news while responding to Instagram trolls who were making unkind comments about her recent weight loss.
"I am so sick and tired of it being ok to call somebody too thin or 'a bag of bones'!" she replied to one Instagram user. "I would never dream of calling somebody too fat and that they should maybe cut down on their food intake? What is the difference?

"You have no idea what I have been through. Just loosing (sic) my father in law v recently and everything that comes with that. Not that I am or should justify myself to anyone. But I am so sick of people thinking it's ok to be mean or body shame anyone. And it's always woman on woman. Have some respect and maybe think there may be reasons why before opening your mouth please."
Cheryl's husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini managed to put a smile on her face at the weekend when he whisked her away to Italy for an incredible birthday surprise. The star explained that she had asked to go to a "nice Italian restaurant" for her birthday this year – before finding herself actually in Italy.

Cheryl, 32, let her fans share in her excitement; she posted a photograph on her Instagram account of herself on the way to the airport, headed for an unknown destination. She can be seen holding up a handwritten sign from JB that read: "What if your bday started today until I think it's enough…. #Might be a long one." A second note had "Got you again" written on it.
It was Jean-Bernard who finally revealed the surprise on Instagram, sharing a photo of the couple enjoying dinner for two in Italy.

"She finally finished her Italian dinner, in Italy," Jean-Bernard captioned the photo on his private Instagram account.
