Charlize Theron reveals embarrassing comment she made to President Obama

Charlize Theron has opened up about the very awkward encounter she had with US President Barack Obama. The Hollywood actress was appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when she recalled the moment, much to her embarrassment.

Charlize told Jimmy about the last time she appeared on his show, which coincided with an appearance by Mr Obama. The pair started talking backstage, and the president told her that he enjoyed featuring on programmes like Jimmy Kimmel Live! because it allowed him to reach younger audiences.

After explaining that when she gets nervous she has a habit of blurting out inappropriate comments, she told Jimmy what happened next. "Then there was this pause, I didn't know what to say, and all I could come up with was, 'Well, if you're looking for a different demographic, I can take you to a strip club'," said the actress.

"He was so gracious and funny, he could tell I was really nervous," said Charlize Theron

The humiliated actress later said of the "terrible" meeting: "He was so gracious and funny. He could tell that I was really nervous and he was nothing but lovely. But then I couldn't sleep for like four weeks, because every time I closed my eyes I went, 'Oh my God, I said that! Oh my God, why did I say that!'"

Charlize, 39, added: "I have this thing that happens when I get nervous, that I get so nervous that I will say something really inappropriate. It's like Tourette's in a weird way. Like, I don't know to stop it."

Despite her recent split from Sean Penn, the blonde beauty showed no signs of heartache as she made her radiant appearance. The Dark Places star wore a floaty black mini dress that skimmed her thighs and showed off her enviable legs.

The 39-year-old actress split from Sean Penn last month

Last month it was reported that Charlize and her actor boyfriend Sean had parted ways, after a year and a half together. The ex-couple, who have been friends for 18 years, are said to have split after returning from Cannes Film Festival.

One of their last joint appearances was on the red carpet, when South Africa-born Charlize and her 54-year-old beau looked completely at ease together and deep in conversation. The relationship seemed rock solid and Sean is even said to have considered filing papers to adopt Charlize's three-year-old son Jackson.
