Charlize looked better than ever at the club opening, proving that her incredibly healthy lifestyle was paying off. "I have juices and kale and green salads every day. When I'm eating healthily, getting enough sleep and not drinking alcohol, that's when I look my best. That's when I'm happiest, and I think it shows," she told Red.

The Oscar winner also likes to eat six smaller meals every day, rather than three larger ones, and her favorite food to indulge in is burgers.

Her major transformation

She previously gained 30 lbs to play Aileen Wuornos in the 2003 film Monster, and gained almost 50 lbs to play Marlo Moreau for 2018's Tully.

Charlize revealed that losing the weight she had gained for the second film was significantly harder than the first, due to her slowing metabolism. "My body flipped me off quite a bit. It's just way different when you're older," she told People.

"Also, this time around I dealt with depression for the first time in my life. I just didn't eat very healthy, and a lot of the processed sugars and things just really put me into a terrible depression, and I'd never dealt with anything like that in my life. It totally took me off guard."

"I was very heavy, literally and figuratively," Charlize continued. "My soul just felt really heavy on this film, and I was just really unhealthy, and I threw my back out and couldn't sleep and was lethargic."

The blonde beauty explained that it took 18 months to lose the weight after wrapping Tully, making it difficult for her to exercise. "I wrapped the film right before Thanksgiving, and I was like, 'Great, I'm not going on a diet now; I'm going to do the holidays," she recalled.

"And then when January came around, it was just like I could barely walk on a treadmill. My body just didn't respond like it did the last time I did this. It took like a year and a half for the weight to come off."

She loves to do a Pilates workout

As for her favorite way to work out, Charlize told RSNG that Pilates was her go-to when it came to getting fit.

"For me it's total immersion in who you are, what you do and body awareness. It relieves tension but builds muscle and strength, and it gave me the platform on which everything else could be built," she explained. "Yoga has been good for me in similar ways – it's real inner strength."
