Perrie Edwards has broken her silence on her split from Zayn Malik

A consummate professional, Perrie managed to field the question with a smile on her face – although she did appear on the verge of tears. "I'm good, thank you," she said, before her bandmate Leigh-Anne added: "We don't really want to talk about it."

Perrie and former One Direction star Zayn got engaged in August 2013 after dating for a year. In March, Zayn shot down reports that he had been unfaithful to the pretty blonde, and it was later revealed that his decision to leave 1D was in part so the couple could spend more time together.

News of their split came as a big surprise to fans – but Perrie is said to be coping well in the wake of the public separation. "Her friends are rallying around her. She's doing fine," a source told E! News. "They split a few weeks ago. Her close friends have told her she's better off without him.
