Vin Diesel once again paid tribute to his late friend Paul Walker at the Teen Choice awards on Sunday. The actor gave an emotional speech as he and the rest of the Fast and Furious 7 cast collected the award for Choice Movie: Action.

Standing onstage alongside his co-stars Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez and Ludacris, the actor took the opportunity to thank fans for their support before talking about his close friend Paul, who died in a car crash in November 2013.

"We are a true, true, true family. You fans have been so incredible to us and have encouraged us and made us reach higher each time," he said. "I can't stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very, very, very important to us.

"One of the best lessons in our lives is the fact that we had the opportunity to call Pablo our brother. Paul Walker is here in spirit with us."

The 48-year-old then voiced his praise for Paul's daughter Meadow, who was sat in the audience during the awards show at Los Angeles' Galen Center.

"And since this is a Teen Choice award, you beautiful teens, there is one teen in the audience that is part of the family that kept us going," he said. "It's Paul Walker's family – his parents and his brothers – that kept us encouraged while we were making Furious 7, but there is one very, very special teen here, and her name is Meadow Walker."

Vin Diesel often speaks about his grief following Paul's death and even named his baby daughter Pauline in tribute to his late friend. The actor has also maintained a close relationship with Paul's daughter Meadow, with the 16-year-old joining the Fast and Furious cast at the film's premiere in April.

Paul's brothers Cody and Caleb have also struck up a close bond with the cast after filming scenes in the movie following Paul's death. This weekend marked a happier occasion for the family, as Cody tied the knot with his long-term girlfriend Felicia Knox in Oregon.
