Andy Murray disguises himself as an ice-cream seller to prank tennis fans in Cincinnati

Andy Murray gave one unsuspecting fan a big surprise this week when he disguised himself as an ice-cream seller for a funny prank. The British tennis star is currently in Ohio preparing for the Cincinnati Masters – but he took time out of his preparations to make a special appearance at the famed ice cream emporium, Graeter's.

American tennis fan Julie Boniface got an unexpected treat when the 28-year-old, wearing a wig, glasses and a backwards baseball cap, took her order on a scorching hot day in the city.

After revealing his true identity, British number one Andy posed for some selfies with star-struck Julie, who then took to Twitter to share her unexpected encounter.

"When @andy_murray is disguised and serves ice cream for you then takes off his wig to take a pic with you," she wrote, as she posted the images online.

A spokesman for Andy confirmed: "Andy is in Cincinnati for the tournament and was just larking about in disguise to see if people could recognise him."

Andy's playful nature away from the court will serve him in good stead when he becomes a first-time father next year. At the start of August – four months after their joyous wedding in his hometown of Dunblane – Andy and his wife Kim Sears confirmed the happy news that they are expecting a baby together.

Andy and Kim tied the knot in April after dating for ten years. Just a few days later, his mother Judy Murray spoke of her longing for them to start a family.

"I'm really looking forward to being a granny," she told Closer magazine. "I've always wanted to have grandchildren, but I had to be patient and let them get married first."
