Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting split: "the tension was noticeable

"It seemed they were both trying to work out their marriage by going on dates, but they both seemed miserable."

Kaley, 29, and tennis star Ryan, 28, had faced rumours that their marriage was in trouble since April. "Kaley and Ryan seem to have totally different personalities," the source added. "Kaley is extremely focused and high-energy. She seems to always be working. On her time off, she also keeps very busy."

But "over the summer, Ryan spent a lot of time at home. He has been struggling with injuries and barely practiced tennis. He has acted very down".

On Friday, a spokesperson for the Big Bang Theory actress announced that the couple had split. "Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage," her rep confirmed. "They ask for privacy at this time. No further statement will be issued regarding this matter."

Both Kaley and Ryan have removed photos of each other from their social media accounts, and Kaley has since been pictured out and about without her wedding ring.

The star has been putting on a brave face since the end of her marriage; on Friday night, Kaley headed out with friends, before taking part in a horse-jumping competition on Saturday. "She was extremely focused during the event," an onlooker told People. "You could tell that she was really enjoying being a part of the horse classic."
