Madonna might be busy most nights entertaining thousands of fans on her Rebel Heart World tour, but she's still first and foremost a loving mother. The 57-year-old mum-of-four has been keeping her family close recently as she travels around America, and this week shared some behind-the-scenes photos showing her larking about with her children in between shows.
On Monday, she took to Instagram to upload a funny photo of her eldest son, 15-year-old Rocco, with his long hair styled in bunches. Rocco, whose father is British film director Guy Ritchie, can been seen with his arms folded across his chest and looking down at the floor, with his mum smiling over his shoulder. "Blonde Ambition! #rebelhearttour," Madonna joked in her caption, referencing her iconic 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour.
Another candid snapshot shows Madonna's daughter Mercy looking lovingly up at the singer as she joins her backing dancers backstage ahead of one of her performances. "Battle cry before each show TIL WE DIE!!!!!" the iconic star wrote alongside.
The photos also included celebrations from youngest son David's 10th birthday. One Instagram image shows Madonna proudly bringing her little boy out on stage to meet the audience, while a picture posted on Facebook shows David moments later showing off some of his dance moves. "David does his Birthday Dance in Boston! My little ❤ #rebelheart ❤ #rebelhearttour – Madonna," the caption read.
Not one to shy away from controversy, Madonna recently admitted that her risqué moves and raunchy song lyrics are all a bit much for her eldest daughter, 18-year-old Lourdes. Speaking on the Today show, the Vogue singer said: "It just goes over Rocco's head. He's like, 'Oh mum. Mum's being mum.'
"The other kids don't really – they're not really tuned into that frequency yet. Lo is horrified by all of it. She just wants me to be her mum."
