Demi Lovato has revealed how Kim Kardashian helped her learn to love her body. The star, who has publicly spoken about her battle with an eating disorder, said that the reality star and her sisters made her realise that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes."I was growing up at the kind of age where your body starts changing and you want to be cool. It was in that era when very, very, very thin people were the popular people in Hollywood so that's what I had to look up to," Demi, 23, said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week.

Demi Lovato said Kim Kardashian inpired her to love her curves

"And after having had my issues with eating, looking back I thought, 'I want to be the difference for people growing up', because I wish that somebody had gone me whenever I was 12, 13 and said, 'Hey, you don't have to look like that to be cool’'"And when the Kardashians came on the scene that was the first time that I really associated curves with beauty and it was just so new to me," the Skyscraper singer added. "I remember thinking, wow, that’s so cool, and even in a time when I was still struggling with food, I was able to look at Kim's curves and be like, I should be really proud of my curves. And because of that and now it's, ya know, obviously there's tons of beautiful, curvy women out there, but it made me feel more confident in my skin to do that Vanity Fair shoot."

The star also spoke about her boyfriend of six years, Wilmer Valderrama

The shoot, published last year, saw Demi pose naked and makeup-free without having the images retouched before publication. "When I did the shoot for Vanity Fair I said, 'I want it to be real, I want it to be authentic', so we did no clothes, no makeup and no photoshop," she explained.During the interview, Demi also spoke about her six-year romance with Wilmer Valderrama. The star denied recent rumours that the couple are engaged – but admitted she hopes they will be soon. "I don't see a ring," she said, holding up her hand. "… I wouldn't mind if I saw one!" But, she added, "There's a time for everything (and) we've been together this long so I'm going anywhere, and vice versa."
