Eddie Redmayne looked dapper dressed in a green suit as he attended a pre-Oscar event on Saturday, alongside his pregnant wife Hannah. The couple attended a dinner put on by Charles Finch and Chanel at the West Hollywood restaurant Madeo.

The actor looked elegant in a forest green suit, which he paired with a gold tie and pocket square.

The star admitted that while he is looking forward to the 88th Academy Awards on Sunday night, he thinks that this is the year that Leonardo DiCaprio will finally win his first Oscar.

"In my mind it is pretty much certainly Leo’s year and he really deserves it. I am going along to enjoy the night," said the Les Miserables actor at The Film is GREAT reception.

"To be nominated again is just the greatest honour and especially in that company of actors. I am not getting carried away. I still pinch myself about last year, let alone what is happening again," he said referring to his when he won the Best Actor Oscar for his role as Stephen Hawkins in The Theory of Everything. This year the 34-year-old has been nominated for his portrayal of transgender woman Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl.

The Hollywood ceremony, that will take place on Sunday evening, will be the fifth time that Leo has been nominated for the prestigious award. So far in this year’s awards season, the Titanic actor has taken home the BAFTA, Critics’ Choice Award and Golden Globes awards for his role as Hugh Glass in the epic drama The Revenant.

Brie Larson, who is nominated for the Best Actress Oscar, also attended the pre-show event. The 26-year-old looked stunning in a patent leather strapless black dress, which she accessorised with black Louboutin stilettos.
