"But for me, it’s always about learning from my mistakes and learning from things that might not necessarily be mistakes and little hiccups and things that can happen in life. I'm very aware of everything going on around me and know what I have to do to be the best that I can be. "Among the things Nick is looking forward to is becoming a first-time father. The singer and his wife Lauren Kitt Carter are expecting a baby boy any day now, and Nick told the publication that he hopes becoming a dad "will turn me into a better person and man".

It's been rocky, to be quite honest with you. There have been times when we thought it wouldn't happen," the 36-year-old told People.Lauren added that their struggles to have a baby had been particularly tough on her husband. "It was really hard on Nick. Just watching him get so excited about something, and see him get so hurt, it was hard," she said.
