James Corden gets driven to work by the 'Chewbacca Mom': see hilarious video

James Corden has shared a car ride with the 'Chewbacca Mom' in a hilarious take on his famous carpool karaoke segment. Candace Payne became the most famous person on the internet last week, thanks to a Facebook video showing her hysterically laughing while trying on a braying Chewbacca mask - and she brought the now-famous mask back out during her skit with James.

The new clip starts with James complaining that Candace is supposed to be driving him to work, before telling her she doesn't even sound like the actual Chewbacca. Star Wars director JJ Abrams then pops up in the backseat to disagree with James, telling Candace: "I think it's an excellent Chewbacca."

JJ quickly puts on his own mask to give Candace some tips, before the pair encourage James to wear his – and the whole car erupts in laughter.

The original 'Chewbacca Mom' hysteria began when 37-year-old Candace bought the mask in a shop in Texas, and opened it up in the car park outside.

Her infectious laughter, and lines including, "I'm such a happy Chewbacca", have made it the most-watched Facebook Live video of all time – to date it has been viewed more than 140million times.

She told James that they only reason she had made the video was to prove to her friends and family that the mask was hers – before her children claimed it for their own.

Speaking to the BBC about the popularity of her video, Candace said: "That's just crazy. I'm just laughing - in all honesty, that is ridiculous. I've looked at the number of views and it just seems like someone is just playing with a calculator."

She added: "I could see myself in the camera, and I saw this view and I could not stop laughing at how gleeful Chewbacca looked. I thought 'Chewbacca's found his joy!'"
