After spending the last four weeks coming to terms with his shocking death, Anton Yelchin's parents have expressed their gratitude to friends, family and fans for their support during their time of grieving. Irina and Viktor Yelchin have taken out a full-page advertisement in the recent issue of The Hollywood Reporter to share their thanks in a heartfelt note.
"Thank you to all who have sent flowers and gifts, for your condolences and kind words and to all who came to celebrate the life of our dear son, Anton," the message read. Anton tragically lost his life on 18 June as a result of blunt force asphyxia when his 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled backwards down his steep driveway after he got out, pinning him against a fence.
The tragedy has sparked questions about why the vehicle rolled back, and whether it was a mechanical fault, or human error.
Carmaker Fiat Chrysler has confirmed it will be investigating Anton's death, and extended its "deepest sympathies" to the star's family and friends. "The company will be conducting a thorough investigation of this tragic incident," it said in a statement. "It is premature to speculate on its cause at this time."

"Your sudden and unexpected death has left us all broken-hearted," she wrote. “I woke up today feeling absolute gratitude that I had you as a friend and colleague. Your life has been cut short, but I will always tell everyone about you.
"You were kind, present, old souled, curious, brilliant, funny, humble, honest and undeniably talented. Good bye Anton, it was an honour to have crossed paths with you."
