All eyes were on Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender on Thursday as they made a rare public appearance together at the Venice Film Festival to promote their new movie, The Light Between Oceans.
The notoriously private couple looked blissfully happy as they stood with their arms wrapped around each other, smiling broadly as they posed for the cameras.

The project holds a very special place in both their hearts; it was while filming the romantic period drama that Alicia, 27, and Michael, 39, first met and fell in love. They have been together ever since.
The Light Between Oceans tells the story of a shell-shocked WWI veteran-turned-lighthouse keeper and his young wife, who is desperate to have a child after suffering two miscarriages. Then one day, a rowboat mysteriously washes up on the shore, with a two-month-old baby inside. The couple's decision to keep the child and raise it as their own leads to more heartbreaking drama.
Alicia recently opened up about the process of working with 12 Years A Slave actor Michael, and explained how the experience brought them together. "He was very sweet at letting me in," the Swedish star told Vanity Fair. "He was like, 'Can you please give me a note? What do you think I should do?'"

The tension between the pair didn't go unnoticed by director Derek Cianfrance. "It wasn't hard for me to see that the chemistry could be there. Just knowing them as individuals," he said.
"What I saw was two great people who were so supportive of each other, who were really picking each other up, and pushing each other."
Ever since they started dating, Michael and Alicia have made every effort to keep their romance out of the spotlight – and unlike many other celebrity couples have managed to keep their private lives private. "Each to their own," Michael told Entertainment Weekly earlier this week. "I'm not going to talk about my private life with a total stranger, unless I feel like I need to. Why would I?! I don't."
