Anne Diamond has opened up the heartache she suffered after losing her son Sebastian 25 years ago to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Appearing on Tuesday's Loose Women, the panellist claimed she wished she moved to Bristol, as her "son would still be alive". She explained: "If I'd stayed in Bristol, made my career in Bristol, brought up my family in Bristol, my little boy would be alive today because I would have been there for when they made all the pioneering discoveries."

The 62-year-old made the comments as she discussed "sliding doors" or "what if" moments on the ITV show. "I don't want to put a downer on it but I was in Bristol yesterday doing a special report about cot death," she told the panel. "That's where they did all this huge pioneering work, and Bristol is also where I started off my journalistic career as a young reporter."

"Once a mum who had lost her child many years before to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome told me, 'After time the pain goes, but the love never does,'" she recently told The Mirror. "I'm not sure the pain ever does go, actually. Nor the sense of injustice. Because, as I later learned, Sebastian didn’t have to die. We could have saved him - the trouble was, we weren’t living in either New Zealand or Bristol."

Sebastian was Anne's third child, he passed away in 1991 at the age of four and a half months from SIDs. The broadcaster has since raised awareness by starting the Back To Sleep campaign which encourages parents to put their babies to sleep on their backs.
