When in Cannes! Gary Barlow has treated his Twitter fans to a cheeky photo of himself going for a midnight swim. The singer is in the French coastal town to promote his new show Let It Shine, but that didn't stop him from mixing business with pleasure. The Take That frontman went for a dip in the pool and was pictured grinning from ear-to-ear. "Someone had a little midnight swim," Gary wrote.

His fans were quick to comment on their pop idol, with several joking that Gary had gone skinny dipping. The photo proved too distracting for some followers who couldn't contain themselves, as one fan wrote, "Stop! I'm supposed to be working!!!!" while another posted: "You're killing me!!!" Gary, 46, has an incredibly loyal fan base and social media following. He opened his Instagram account just over a month ago, but the doting dad has already amassed more than 82,000 followers.

Not only has Gary been busy filming Let It Shine and promoting Take That's new album Wonderland, the singer is also set to play a cameo role in the new Star Wars film. Gary confirmed to Lorraine's Ross King: "I'm not a Stormtrooper, but I am in it." He then added: "Now that I've said that, I'll probably be out. I think the Star Wars people are so strict about what information [is out there]. So me saying that, I've probably just done myself out of a role."
