The Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation is how the couple carry out most of their philanthropic work, creating programmes and doling out grants to arts, education and sustainability initiatives.

They've given money to Jada's university, the Baltimore School for the Arts, donated to help organise marches for racial justice and have given millions to other colleges and programmes to improve access for under-represented groups to break into the entertainment industry.

"That was really important to me, that they understood that they are really privileged and they have to learn how to offer and offer themselves and be in service to the world." - Jada on raising her children Jaden and Willow

Jada previously explained that the couple have always strived to ensure their two children, Jaden and Willow, know the importance of giving back to those less fortunate.

"I think also they had to start their charity lifestyle very early, [at] five years old they were in the orphanages at homeless shelters," she said at Sundance Film Festival in 2019.

"They got to see that there's life beyond all the twinkles and lights. That was really important to me, that they understood that they are really privileged and they have to learn how to offer and offer themselves and be in service to the world," the actress continued. "I think Will and I always led with that."
