Martin Lewis is the UK's most trusted Money Saving Expert, offering standout financial advice, tips and tricks on everything from the cost of living to student loans, mortgages and insurance.
Often appearing on This Morning, as well as fronting his own ITV show, The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, the 54-year-old financial journalist has worked tirelessly to help Britons over the years and is being recognised for his hard work with the BAFTA Television Special Award on Sunday evening.
But while Martin is synonymous with money-saving expertise, he isn't the only one in his family with a successful career in the public eye. In fact, his wife has amassed her own impressive résumé in journalism and presenting.
Keep reading for everything you need to know about Martin's famous wife of more than 15 years, with whom he shares a daughter.
Meet Martin Lewis' wife
Martin is married to Lara Lewington, a British presenter, journalist and former weather presenter.
Much like her husband, the 47-year-old has appeared on a range of TV programmes over the years, including presenting on the BBC's technology programme Click, Five News and Sky News. In recent years, she's also become an AI and technology expert on Lorraine and This Morning.
From TV to writing, Lara has also penned a technology column for Woman magazine and is the author of her own book, Hacking Humanity: Innovations For a Healthier Life, which was released in July 2025.
According to TV Guide, Lara and Martin met in 2005 and Martin popped the question during a game of Scrabble.
Appearing on her husband's ITV series How to Win at Board Games, Lara revealed: "Martin proposed to me on a Scrabble set. Once he got the letters out, I thought he had too many letters because 'Will you marry me' is more than seven letters.
She continued: "So I said: 'What are you doing? You've got too many letters on the board,' but he said: 'Wait, just wait.' And then of course he put them down and I felt bad because I accused him of cheating!"
The couple tied the knot in 2009 and Martin later revealed the romantic first dance song they chose for their wedding. Speaking on Desert Island Discs in 2020, the presenter said: "So this was the first song we danced to at our wedding, so this is the song for my wife. This is Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons – Can't Take My Eyes Off You."
In the same Desert Island Discs interview, Martin's last song was accompanied by an insight into his and Lara's early relationship. "When we started going out, in the days when she would allow me to do this, I'm banned now since we had a child, I'm not allowed to ride a motorbike any more," he explained.
"We would occasionally hire a motorbike when we were on holiday. And we'd sit there and we'd sing this song in the sun, on the back of a moped, both wearing helmets, being safe, I should note," he added.
As well as using her Instagram for work updates, Lara occasionally shares pictures of herself and Martin. Back in March, she posted a photo of the pair at the Royal Television Society Awards, captioning it: "Tonight @royaltelevisionsociety awards, where @martinlewismse was nominated for best presenter. Very proud!"
Martin and Lara's family life
Three years after their wedding, Martin and Lara welcomed a baby girl named Sapphire Susan Lewis. Martin revealed the happy news in a blog post, which read: "While she weighs a wee 6lb 6oz, her weight in joy is immeasurable."
While they tend to keep their daughter out of the spotlight, Martin has shared snippets of his "Mini Me" over the years.
In a 2020 interview with The Sunday Times, he reflected: "When my daughter was born, I remember saying: 'I'll buy her everything she needs, but not everything she wants.' Unfortunately, I didn't factor in her special power. Those eyes."
Meanwhile, he also penned on social media: "Mini MSE (age 7) said to me smiling tonight, having got some fruit from the fridge, 'Daddy these grapes are a day over their best-before date, but I know I can eat them still because they're not use buy, and they still look ok.' I'm very proud. What a chip off the old block :)."
