All eyes were on David Beckham on Friday when he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

While he was joined by his doting wife, Victoria Beckham, and three of their four children, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, two family members didn't make it over to the US for the former Manchester United player's big moment.

David's mother, Sandra and younger sister, Joanne, were not in attendance. The mother-daughter duo were instead at the funeral of the late TOWIE star, Jake Hall, who tragically died last month aged 35.

Sandra and Joanne were photographed dressed in black, stepping out alongside Jake's friends and family, including his ex-girlfriend, Chloe Lewis and their former fellow TOWIE stars, Lydia Bright, James Argent and Tommy Mallet.

Following his stint on TOWIE, Jake, who went on to work in fashion, landed a job dressing David.

Despite Sandra and Joanne's absence, they did get a shout-out in David's speech. "Most of all, I want to thank my incredible family.

"My parents and my sisters, who always supported my dreams. Victoria, my amazing wife for almost 30 years. Without whom, none of this would be possible or as enjoyable. And my beautiful children, who are the reason that I get out of the bed in the morning."

David continued: "Kids - I'm going to get emotional now - I hope you bring my grandchildren here one day and tell them about a boy who dreamed big," Beckham said. "To make you all proud is my greatest achievement. I'm so grateful for you all, thank you, and thank you so much for this honour, L.A., it means so much."

Noticeably absent

One person who was noticeably absent from David's moment was his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham who has been estranged from his family in recent months, culminating in a brutal 800-word statement released in January.

David's moment on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is the latest of the family milestones missed by the Cloud23 creator, who didn't attend his dad's 50th birthday celebrations last year.

Despite his distance from his family, on Friday, the youngest Beckham sibling, Harper was seen approaching her elder brother's home, where he lives with his actress wife, Nicola Peltz.

Sadly, the visit appeared to be unsuccessful as the budding beauty mogul was only at the property for around 30 seconds, according to Page Six, after discovering neither Brooklyn nor his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, was there. HELLO! Understands that the couple are out of town in Miami.
