Paul Flack, the older brother of the late Love Island presenter Caroline Flack, has died at the age of 55 following a cardiac arrest.

Paul was found unresponsive at his home in Norwich on 21 June, before passing away at hospital. An inquest was opened on Monday, establishing that further enquiries would be held into his death. The hearing was adjourned until 23 October.

The 55-year-old leaves behind his partner and their two children. Before his death, he worked as an artist and graphic designer.

Paul was living a private life before his death, with his final social media post being a tribute to his late sister in 2020. The image was of Caroline in her youth, as he captioned it: "This will be my last post here. May those who know feel shame for eternity. Love you Caroline."

What happened to Caroline Flack?

Caroline died by suicide at the age of 40 on 15 February 2020. Her family confirmed her death, saying: "We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February. We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time."

Speaking to the Eastern Daily Press following Caroline's funeral, her mother, Christine, said: "There were lots of memories, smiles but mostly tears as we all remembered Carrie and the joy she had brought to all of our lives.

"All the family would like to say thank you so much to all Carrie's friends who travelled from all over the world to be there that day and who appreciated why we wanted to bring her back home to Norfolk."

She added: "Friends included all the old pals she had either worked alongside or presented with on Fash FC, I'm A Celebrity, Xtra Factor, Love Island, friends old and new from the world of Strictly, the Bake Off and many many more."

The service included two moving live performances from The X Factor star Lucie Jones, who sang 'She Used To Be Mine' from the musical Waitress, and Caroline's close friend Ciara, who performed a song written especially for the late star called 'The Sulking Room'.
