Karolina Muchova will be hoping to triumph over fellow Czech Linda Noskova when they cross paths at the Ladies' Singles final in this year's Wimbledon.

A win at Wimbledon would be Karolina's first Grand Slam title, with the 29-year-old's previous best Grand Slam result coming in 2023, when she made the finals of the French Open, where she ultimately lost to Iga Swiatek, the defending champion. She has, however, won the likes of the Bad Homburg and the Qatar Ladies Open.

The star's career has previously been beset with injuries, including a wrist injury that forced her to pull out of the 2024 Australian Open, even undergoing surgery in order to fix the issue.

But what do you know about the Czech superstar? Here's everything you need to know about Karolina's life away from the tennis court…

Karolina Muchova's personal life

Sport has always been in Karolina's blood, with the tennis ace being the daughter of Czech footballer Josef Mucha. Josef played for various Czech teams between 1975 and 2006, being capped over 250 times. Following his retirement, Josef became a football manager, and he has served as the assistant manager of Zbrojovka Brno since 2023.

It was her father who got her interested in tennis in the first place, with Karolina telling the Women's Tennis Association in 2020: "My father played professional soccer in the first league in Czech. My brother and I did many sports when we were kids. I had courts 50 metres from where we lived.

"So I just picked up the racket and I played pretty good so I stuck with that. I was doing more sports, but then when I was about 12, I couldn't make it anymore with the time and I chose tennis over handball."

When asked about the impact of having a sportsman as a father, she replied: "We were doing many, many things. I think he taught us how to move. We were looking up at him, going for football matches to cheer on him. It definitely gave me a lot."

Karolina had financial support from her family in the early stages of her career

However, despite this, she joked that there was "pressure" from her family for her to succeed as a tennis player due to borrowing money from them in order to compete in the early stages of her professional career.

Karolina doesn't often speak openly about her relationships, but she previously ended up tearful after spotting an ex-boyfriend in the crowd when she played in the US Open. When asked about the incident, she told The Athletic: "Well, it wasn't tennis-related, so I don't really like talking about it, but opposite my bench, my ex-boyfriend sat down.

The star opened up about a bad experience with an ex unnerving her

"He sometimes shows up at places where he shouldn't be. That startled me a bit. I told him to leave, he didn't, but later he did go. It was hard to focus in that moment."
