The Bohemian Rhapsody star has an identical twin brother, Sami Malek, who is not a famous actor like his sibling. Instead, Sami works as a high school English teacher according to the STEM Academy of Hollywood website. While he stays out of the spotlight, the 45-year-old still supports his brother at events, having attended the Golden Globes and Oscars in 2019 for Rami's big double win playing Freddie Mercury in the biopic. Sami told Access Hollywood in 2019 after his brother won the Academy Award for Best Actor: "Well, I could tell you I'm speechless, but at the same time, I kind of figured my boy had it in the bag because he killed it."

Marriage Story actress Scarlett Johansson and her fraternal twin brother have shared a special bond since childhood. Hunter has supported his Hollywood sister over the years by attending red carpets, but he actually works in politics and public service. He talked about his guilt on a 2022 episode of The Checkup with Dr. David Agus: "I'm like, 'How do I get to be this lucky? For my brother to be born with cerebral palsy, then have a heart transplant, then have this random blood clot...you're like, 'Who has to go through that?'" There was a silver lining as although Ashton's 48-year-old twin never pursued acting, instead he became a motivational speaker for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, as well as a spokesperson for Be The Gift donor registration.
