Chad Lowe’s 17-year-old daughter, Mabel, has paid a heartbreaking tribute to her younger sister, Fiona, four days after the family shared that the 13-year-old had died.
"I love you so much, Fiona," Mabel wrote on Instagram alongside a carousel of pictures and videos of their years together.
In one video, a young Mabel is seen dancing with a toddler Fiona, while pictures also showed the sisters on vacation together, as well as one of Fiona posing for a dance portrait.
"I wish your short time here was easier and I hope your mind is at ease now," Mabel continued. "I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, I hope you knew just how much."
Chad, the brother of The West Wing and Brat Pack star Rob Lowe, welcomed his daughters with wife Kim; they are also parents to 10-year-old Nixie.
The family shared news of Fiona’s death on September 29, writing: "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona She was adored by her sisters, and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives."
"Her passing is devastating for our entire family, and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time," they added. "If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988."
Her cause of death was ruled a suicide on Thursday, October 1, according to the medical examiner’s office. A statement from the medical examiner confirmed that the teenager was pronounced dead at 1:14 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29 at a local hospital.
Chad, 58, and 52-year-old Kim welcomed Fiona on November 16, 2012. On her 13th birthday in 2025, Chad posted a series of pictures of the new teen sharing that he was "celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today," and calling on her to "keep dancing through life FiBear."
In 2024 Chad said that "having daughters is such an incredible privilege" and it had opened his eyes to the "injustices in the world."
"I know that there are struggles," he said on the Still Here Podcast.
"And now it’s taken what I’ve known intellectually, and it’s put it in my heart because I now have three daughters. And so, I look at the world from really their perspective and I see the world and a lot of the injustices in the world from their perspective."
Chad is also an actor and director, and has appeared on Bones and 911: Lone Star, on which Rob also starred.
Bones alum David Boreanaz shared a heartfelt post on Instagram to honor the passing of the young girl, posting a picture of himself with Fiona, Kim, Nixie, and David's son, Jaden.
"My Deepest condolences to my friends Chad and Kim with the loss of their beautiful soul Fiona," David captioned the post. "May she be surrounded in light and dance in heaven with all the angels. If you or someone you know is experiencing such difficulties, you can contact the lifeline by calling or texting 988."
