Kim Kardashian was single for five years as she needed time to "heal" following her traumatic divorce from Kanye West.
Apart from a brief fling with comedian Pete Davidson, the reality superstar shunned dating until falling for F1 ace Lewis Hamilton earlier this year.
"I was really single for five years. And that felt great," the 45-year-old told The Sunday Times. "I could focus on my kids and projects that I really wanted to be involved with. I really felt no rush. Like, I really didn't feel empty.
"I felt like I needed my time. I wanted to completely heal and just work on myself. I wasn't ready to open up. I really wasn't even thinking about it. The universe works in your favour when you just allow it to."
Kim filed for divorce from Ye, 49, in February 2021 following a turbulent period in their marriage, during which the rapper, whose mental health struggles have been well documented, made a series of controversial statements.
The Skims founder shares four children with the rapper - North, 13, Saint, ten, Chicago, eight, and seven-year-old Psalm.
Following the end of her marriage and several years largely focused on her family, Kim has since found romance again.
Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian's romance
Lewis and Kim have known each other since at least 2014, but their long-standing friendship was reported to have turned romantic earlier this year.
Following months of dating rumours, Kim cheered on Lewis at the Grand Prix in Monaco on 7 June. During a post-race press conference, Lewis opened up about his reported romance.
"It's amazing to have her come this weekend and have the support," he said of the reality TV star. "But, you know, with my friends, incredible turnout, just overall, the people," he added.
"It's amazing to have good people around you and good people supporting you and she does that for me every day."
