Julia Stiles left a lasting impression on early 2000s pop culture with her starring role in the 2001 film Save the Last Dance.
On Tuesday, the American actress paid homage to the iconic movie during a performance on Dancing with the Stars. Julia and her professional partner, Ezra Sosa, performed a jazz routine set to Jennifer Lopez's Jenny From the Block, and Ezra's choreography drew directly from the Juilliard audition scene in Save the Last Dance.
One person who was delighted to see the tribute was Julia's co-star, Sean Patrick Thomas, who couldn't help but share the love following her performance on Instagram.
"My old friend @missjuliastiles left no crumbs on that dance floor. Unforgettable night," the actor penned in the caption.
"Your Cameo was truly iconic! Xennials and millennials cheered!" one person penned in the comments. Another added: "I'd like to think they’re married with a couple kids in the STLD universe lol…"You gave us what we have been waiting for, and it meant everything and more. Derek & Sara forever."
One thing that couldn't go unnoticed was how well the pair had aged, the duo appearing as though they hadn't aged a day since starring in the noughties classic.
Gushing about Julia, Sean said: "I am just over the moon to be here to watch Julia do her thing tonight on Dancing with the Stars," in a video posted by the show. "We had a great time doing Save the Last Dance back in the day, and she brought it all the way back here tonight."
What has Julia said about the epic routine?
"I feel like there are rules that we’re gonna be breaking, but I really trust his artistry,” Julia said of revisiting her viral routine. "This is my chance for the do-over that I’ve always wanted. So, I have to just go out there and own it. I have no other choice."
Is there going to be a Save the Last Dance sequel?
Asked whether there were hopes of a Save the Last Dance sequel on the cards, Sean previously told E-News: "I can never think of something that sounds plausible. Unless they ended up getting married somehow. But that seems too easy."
