In the 1970s, Bruce Lee was the face of martial arts films, helping to popularise the genre in the Western world with major hits like Fist of Fury and Enter the Dragon.
Bruce sadly died at the age of 32 following a brain oedema. The cause of his death led to widespread conspiracy theories and accounts, from outlandish claims of a family curse to medical experts speculating that heat stroke played a part in the legendary actor's death.
Before his untimely death, Bruce married writer and teacher Linda Emery. The couple welcomed two children, Brandon and Shannon, both of whom followed in the footsteps of their famous father.
Meet the pair below…
Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee
Brandon was the eldest child of Bruce and Linda, born on 1 February 1965, eight years before his father died. Like his father, Brandon starred in several martial arts films, making his professional debut in Legacy of Rage, which was released in 1986.
During his career, Brandon also appeared in the cast of Laser Mission, Showdown in Little Tokyo and Rapid Fire, before landing the lead role in The Crow, in which he played resurrected rock musician Eric Draven.
However, tragedy struck during filming of the movie. On 31 March 1993, Brandon was filming a scene in which his character was shot and killed by a gang of thugs. When actor Michael Massee fired the prop gun at Brandon, a bullet fragment from a dummy round ended up being discharged, striking him in the abdomen.
Although the actor was rushed to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery, he died six hours later. Brandon was just 28 at the time of his death, and he was due to marry his fiancée, Eliza Hutton, just weeks after the fatal accident.
The star was buried next to his father, with his gravestone bearing a quotation that had featured on his and Eliza's wedding invitations.
Bruce Lee's daughter Shannon Lee
Bruce and Linda's second child is Shannon Lee, who has also become an actress and martial arts practitioner. The star made her debut in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, a biopic of her father, in which she played a singer at a party.
Shannon has since appeared in High Voltage, Enter the Eagles, Blade and Warrior, the latter of which was released in 2023. The actress also served as an executive producer on I Am Bruce Lee, a documentary film about her late father.
The actress was rocked by her brother's death in 1993, and speaking to Prestige Online in 2026, she shared: "I was walking around with so much pain. It was hard to get up in the morning or do something as simple as laundry: I fell into a comatose state until I needed some clean clothes, or I remembered I had an audition that day, which obviously wouldn't go well."
On her father, she also told the publication: "My dad has always been Bruce Lee: the way he moves is mesmerising; you can feel his energy. He can do things other people can’t manage, and he was so frigging good at everything he did. I was born as Bruce Lee’s daughter because I am capable, I just have to believe that."
In 1994, Shannon married Ian Keasler, and the couple now share a daughter, Wren.
