Arnold Schwarzenegger, 79, looked happier than ever as he spent quality time with his family over Halloween.
The Terminator actor couldn't contain his enthusiasm while trying his hand at an iconic spooky season tradition: pumpkin carving. Arnold, who is a grandfather to his daughter Katherine's three children with Chris Pratt, was beaming in a wholesome behind-the-scenes photo from the family get-together.
Katherine included the picture in a wholesome round-up from their Halloween celebrations, which revealed that her husband Chris and one of their daughters got into the spooky spirit with matching astronaut costumes. The father and daughter duo were adorably twinning in silver space suits, with rockets on the back.
And it seems the countdown to Christmas is already on for the family. "October best! [pumpkin emoji]. And now it’s time for the most wonderful time of the year," Katherine captioned the carousel post.
Arnold's grandchildren call him 'Opa'
Arnold is a grandfather to Katherine and Chris' two daughters – Lyla, six, and Eloise, four – and their one-year-old son, Ford, who all call him "Opa" (the German word for grandpa).
They come over every week and play with my animals and feed them and help me clean the stall and all that stuff," he told AARP. "They’re really into it. And they just love to visit Opa."
He continued: "It’s fun how your bloodline just keeps going on and on and on. You watch your kids, your sons, your daughters, and you feel like there’s a certain part of them that’s like me."
"And then you see the grandkids, and they adopt the personality of their parents. It’s really fun to watch that. What makes it also fun is that when you don’t want to be with them anymore, they go home!"
The actor previously gushed during a 2021 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that being a grandfather was the "easiest thing". At the time, Katherine and Chris were pregnant with their second daughter, Eloise.
He explained: "Because they come over to the house, you play with Lyla for around an hour or two. I put her on the horse, I put her with the dog, I play with the dog, and after two hours, they leave. Over."
"It’s fantastic, I tell you,” he added. "I have a great time when they come over to the house."
