The first lady looked gorgeous in green donning a belted draped dress, while sporting her signature blowout. The 46-year-old’s fashion choice was perhaps a sartorial nod to the Jordanian flag, which features a green band. Meanwhile Rania looked sophisticated for her visit to the White House wearing a black and white menswear-inspired ensemble.

After hosting lunch for her guest at the White House, the first lady and monarch, who is known for being an education advocate, paid a visit to Excel Academy — a public charter school for girls in southeast D.C. Melania has previously stressed the importance of education calling it the "the most powerful way to promote and ensure women's rights." Upon their arrival to the school, the stylish women were greeted with warm hugs and flowers. During their visit, Melania and Rania participated in a round-table discussion with students, parents and faculty of the school before visiting art and science classrooms.

The 5 April engagement marked Melania’s first official meeting with a royal figure since her husband’s January inauguration, while it was the King of Jordan's first visit to the White House under the new administration. In the afternoon, Abdullah and the commander-in-chief held a joint news conference in the Rose Garden, during which the president noted that the United States is "blessed" to have a "thoughtful and determined partner" in the Jordanian King. Meanwhile Abdullah thanked Melania’s husband for his partnership noting that they had a "very good round of talks."
