ELLE MACPHERSON'S CAREER HEATS UP AS SHE AGREES TO STAR IN A NEW FILM

Supermodel Elle Macpherson has just signed on to star in the $7.5 million romantic comedy South Kensington opposite My Best Friend’s Wedding heart-throb Rupert Everett. The movie, which starts filming next month in London, tells the story of an aristocrat strapped for cash who rents out his posh home to two Italian stunners and watches as hilarity ensues.

The antipodean beauty has passed on lead roles in the past, concentrating instead on smaller parts in films such as Sirens and Batman And Robin while honing her skills. However, it seems “The Body” is now ready to take centre stage, literally. She’s not only agreed to star in the Carlo and Enrico Vanzina produced film, but she’ll also appear down under in a production of David Hare’s sexy The Blue Room, inhabiting the role famously taken by Nicole Kidman in 1998.

Jet-setter Elle, who attended Monday night’s “It’s Fashion” charity benefit alongside fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell, was pretty in pink last week as she helped celebrate the christening of the nine-month-old Prince Achileas of Greece.
