The Olympic stadium was brought to a standstill on Sunday night as the nation’s sexiest 'supers' performed an epic ode to British fashion. Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Lily Cole and Georgia May Jagger were among industry greats and newer faces that stepped out to strut their stuff in a series of custom-made gold outfits from iconic British brands.

All eyes were on 42-year-old superstar Naomi, looking incredible in a staggered-hem gown with a sparkling train as she took to the stage with David Bowie's Fashion blaring from the speakers.Often referred to as the queen of the catwalk, the Londoner was the obvious choice to lead the pack.Streatham's most famous local is known for a self-assured, entrancing walk that has made her the darling of designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Daniella Helayel of Issa and the late great Alexander 'Lee' McQueen.Kate took to the giant, Union-Jack shaped runway in a glittering, mermaid creation embellished with gold and silver paillettes. Fittingly both were in McQueen, the brand founded by their much-missed friend, which has gone from strength to strength after giving us the Duchess of Cambridge’s wow-the-world wedding dress

Confidently bringing up the rear was Jourdan Dunn. Stunning in Jonathan Saunders and a 21-feather headdress by Stephen Jones, the 22-year-old looked destined to take over Naomi's crown should she ever choose to relinquish it. She was flanked by male model David Gandy, flying the flag for male British fashion in a Paul Smith suit.

Meanwhile, Georgia, the daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, wore a metallic-gold skater-style Victoria Beckham number.

Lily Cole showed off an Erdem creation, Stella Tennant glittered in a Christopher Kane tuxedo. Meanwhile Lily Donaldson was in signature curve-hugging Vivienne Westwood and Karen Elson in Burberry. It was five minutes of gold-plated showmanship that emphasised to an audience of 750 million the dominance of British fashion.
