Supermodels were out in force for the amFAR Gala in New York on Wednesday night. Naomi Campbell, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima were among the famous faces to walk the red carpet at the event, which was hosted by David Bowie's widow Iman. The gala, which serves as the unofficial kick off to New York Fashion Week, paid tribute to Scarlett Johansson and Donatella Versace for their longstanding support of amFAR - the foundation for AIDS research. Naomi Campbell dazzled in an orange embellished dress from Atelier Versace, which she paired with strappy metallic heels and a chunky cuff on her wrist. The supermodel wore her long hair down in curls, with metallic gold eyeshadow to complete the look.
British singer Ellie Goulding stepped out in a similar orange hue for her performance at the gala. The Love Me Like You Do singer wore a striking Jenny Packham gown with a Harry Winston bracelet and earrings.
Heidi Klum wore a black Versace gown with a dramatic thigh high split and colourful embroidery. The model complemented the look with simple black sandals and her hair perfectly blow dried into natural waves.
Looking stunning as ever, Alessandra Ambrosio graced the red carpet in an asymmetric white Versace gown and silver heels. The model wore her brunette hair slicked back and sleek, with dramatic smoky eye make-up adding the perfect finishing touch.
Adriana Lima wowed in this black sheer gown with plunging key hole detail and cinched in waistband. The model paired the striking Zuhair Murad number with a co-ordinating black clutch bag and bold red lipstick.

Scarlett Johansson channelled an androgynous look in a black double breasted suit with Harry Winston earrings and a contrasting white clutch bag.
