Accessories are just as important as your clothes. Be it a piece of jewellery, a killer pair of shoes or a waist-defining belt, there are ways to amp up your look with the addition of a few must-haves, extra-special pieces. But nothing gives your outfit that extra pizzazz than a bold handbag. Whether it's a a splash of colour, a smattering of pom poms or a unique shaped clutch, these really are the best conversation-starters. We've rounded up the best in-your-face designs that will spruce up your wardrobe and will look chic in your Instagram flat lay…

£210, Nannacay

One of our favourite brands, Nannacay, has produced a selection of quirky-cool bags that will have all your friends taking a closer look at your arm candy. The Rio-based company produce bags in a really unique way - with each one handmade to ensure no two are the same. The label are known for their wicker bags but the arrival of the Toquilla Fish is beyond adorable. We love the shape, together with the multi-coloured raffia and button-closure. A total holiday-must-have.

£210, Nannacay

Shaped like the holiday home we always dreamed of, the Toquilla House is an intricately designed basket with the most incredible colour palette – we are obsessed with the fuchsia pink thread and blue tassels.

£150, Cult Gaia

When we saw a variety of influencers - including the Fashion Bug Blog - with this piggy bag, it made us think of the Three Little Pigs (but in the most stylish way). The Cult Gaia 'Babe Weaved shoulder bag' is made in a sturdy, yet playful shape and comes complete with a braided shoulder strap and a secure latch to hold all your essentials.

£600, Meli Melo

Meli Melo is a brand loved by the Duchess of Sussex and when we saw the Art Bag, we were drawn to the lovely tan colour and the 'Total Chaos' slogan on the front, which pretty much sums up our lives! The brass lock closure and boxing, mini case shape is so unique and would transform any ensemble.

£289, Ashish

Ashish is known for going above and beyond with its designs, and this embellished cotton bag is such a clever piece. Ashish Gupta has reworked a certain British store’s logo in a really contemporary way, and the sequins pack a powerful punch.
