The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly arrived back in the UK on Wednesday, alongside their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. According to BBC News, the family of four flew into Birmingham on a private plane from California.

From a fashion perspective, flying in style can be quite the task, particularly if it's a transcontinental journey. Comfort is always key when it comes to travel, but the royal family is often pictured by the world's press at airports, which may make them feel they need to look as resplendent as ever.

One of Meghan's best-loved airport moments came in 2018. Harry and Meghan touched down in Ireland that year, and the former Suits star appeared effortlessly striking as she disembarked from the jet in her travelling outfit, which consisted of an emerald green top and figure-hugging pencil skirt by one of her favourite designers, Givenchy.

Accessorising to perfection, she carried a gorgeous tan tote by Scottish brand Strathberry, and wore her raven tresses in a sleek bun. Harry, meanwhile, looked as suave as ever in his navy blue suit.

Meghan's airport fashion faux pas

However, Meghan suffered a slight style blunder during this appearance; she appeared to have forgotten to take off the protective plastic that was placed on the robust gold studs of her tote bag's base.

The royal must have been in a hurry after a hectic day of appearances! The bag in question sold out just hours after she was spotted with it. At the time, HELLO! spoke exclusively with Leeanne Hundleby, the co-owner and founder of Strathberry, who revealed: "We are delighted that the Duchess of Sussex chose to carry Strathberry for her debut official overseas visit to Dublin, the third time she has championed our brand. She looked so chic and sophisticated."

Meghan and Harry's impending arrival

The Sussexes are said to be settling in the UK for an "extended period" of time, amid speculation as to how long they will stay and where they will live, with the Cotswolds being suggested as the most likely destination. Royal children Archie and Lili have been enrolled in British schools, ready to start in September. Harry and Meghan stepped back as senior working royals six years ago amid the Megxit crisis, leaving to live in the US.
