Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei and his wife Princess Anisha Rosnah were pictured in Singapore earlier this week as part of Mateen's duties as Brunei’s Foreign Minister.
Lee Hsien Loong, Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and a Member of Parliament for Ang Mo Kio GRC, took to X (formerly Twitter), to share a photo of the pair, writing: "Happy to host HRH Prince Abdul Mateen, Brunei Minister of Foreign Affairs and his wife HRH Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah to lunch today. HRH is on his first official visit to Singapore in his capacity as Brunei’s Foreign Minister."
The couple, who got married in 2024 and welcomed their first child Princess Zahra in 2026, put on a united display in co-ordinating blue outfits.
The silver-blue thread on Mateen's geometric shirt brought out the icy colour of Anisha's lace-trimmed outfit, which appears to be a custom design from one of her favourite labels, Teh Firdaus.
The floral print jacket featured structured shoulders, a buttoned front and lace detailing on the hem and the sleeves. She wore the matching floral skirt, and the entire silhouette drew remarkable comparisons to ones she has previously worn.
Anisha was pictured in a bespoke lace kebaya and printed sarong in similar blue hues in July, and a deep blue Kurung dress version in April, both from the same designer.
Princess Anisha's wedding dress designer
The Princess has developed a close working relationship to Teh Firdaus, even turning to them for help with several of her bridal looks over her 10-day wedding.
"Radiant in lace and pearls – Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah’s second outfit from us for her ‘Berbedak Mandi’ exudes elegance. A short lace kurung paired with a chiffon silk veil, adorned with hand-beaded pearls, captures the essence of enchantment," they wrote next to photos of her brilliant white pearl and lace-embellished outfit, which she finished with a lace veil and pearl drop earrings.
Not only is her latest look a nod to her wedding with her choice of designer, but Anisha also chose very similar floral earrings with a pearl pendant.
Brunei royal wedding dress secrets
Teh Firdaus later opened up about the design process for the royal wedding looks.
Speaking of her modern short baju kurung, he told Harper's Bazaar Malaysia: "This was the first look I designed for her wedding. In fact, she bought the French lace from London herself and even expressed her love for pearls during the design process. Her only request to me was to hand-bead each pearl throughout the baju kurung, which took us three months to complete."
While three months may seem like a fast turnaround, he added it was even shorter for the Khatam Quran event, where she wore a silver woven gown with intricate beaded embroidery on the sleeves.
"For this look, it only took us one month to prep. We had to wait for the kain tenunan Brunei (textile) to arrive, which was beautifully laced with gold and silver thread. Anisha requested something minimal and clean, and we created this elegant baju kurung to enhance the beauty of the fabric. On top of that, she gave us the freedom to design this look and there was no fitting done prior to this, too."
The designer added that it was a surprise meeting, but described Princess Anisha as "charming" and said it was clear she and Prince Mateen were "definitely meant to be together."
