Insiders at exclusive celebrity airfield Van Nuys in Los Angeles – a virtual parking lot for private jets – say Tom Cruise has just had Nicole’s name wiped from the nose of his aircraft. And some speculate Tom’s toys such as the $28-million jet may feature prominently in the divorce proceedings.
“I assume he’s going to claim that she is self-supporting,” says family-law attorney Lynn Soodik, who is representing Meg Ryan in her divorce from Dennis Quaid. “If they took private jets, could she afford to have the use of a private jet? Most people would say, ‘Oh, I’d love to have the money that Nicole earns. That would be more than enough to provide for myself.’ But maybe it isn’t, in her circumstances.”
Tom’s Gulfstream IV aircraft comes complete with three luxury cabins, seating for ten, a Jacuzzi, a Sony cinema with a state-of-the-art sound system, and a children’s play area featuring Toy Story characters.
