Actress Penelope Cruz, back in her native Spain to present the latest Ralph Lauren fragrance, Glamourous, has taken time out to quash a plethora of rumours about her relationship with Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise. The star didn’t mince words, announcing: “Tom and I haven’t separated, we’re not married and I’m not pregnant.”
Speculation that she and her American superstar beau had split emerged soon after Tom arrived at this year’s Oscars without Pen on his arm. “Our relationship is fine,” insisted Penelope, adding that she watched the ceremony from the home of fellow Spanish actor Antonio Banderas. Tom, she says, was at her side as soon as the broadcast came to an end.
And her recent purchase of a Big Apple flat far from Tom’s LA digs? “I’m not relocating to New York, even though I’ve bought an apartment there,” she explains. “It has always been my dream to live in Los Angeles, visiting and working in Madrid.”
And it seems that this trip home is just such a visit. In her country for a short stay, Penelope arrived without her famous boyfriend and has spent most of her time relaxing with family and friends.
