Fresh from her Oscar win for the film production of hit stage musical Chicago, it looks like actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is set to tread the boards in the West End.
According to reports, Catherine – who recently welcomed her second child, a baby girl called Carys Zeta-Douglas – is preparing for a London production of Noel Coward's Private Lives next year. And her partner for 1930s-set classic comedy is said to be none other than her famous husband, Michael Douglas.
The Hollywood couple, who last joined forces professionally in 2000's Traffic, will headline as estranged couple Elyot and Amanda. Catherine, as the quick-witted divorcée, follows in the footsteps of iconic divas Elizabeth Taylor and Joan Collins, who have played the role in the past.
While in the midst of her pregnancy a few months ago, the Welsh beauty – who began her career on the West End – made it clear that she'd like to return to her stage roots one day. "I'd just love to be in the West End," she says. "The only thing is, I have another production in progress at the moment - my babe."
