Sporting her new wedding ring, a casually-dressed Kate Winslet took her adorable daughter on a walk in London yesterday, just a few weeks after she secretly wed American Beauty director Sam Mendes.
Strolling with two-year-old Mia in a pushchair, the 27-year-old actress also took time to set the record straight on her surprise nuptials, which took place in the West Indies in May.
The couple made headlines after it was revealed that they had quietly tied the knot with only three guests present, including the actresses' toddler. However, although Kate reportedly said she "hadn't been planning" to get hitched, the British star made it clear on Wednesday that her wedding was no whim.
"It was not a spur of the moment thing," said Kate, revealing: "We had been secretly engaged for some time."
Meanwhile, the Enigma star's ex-husband, Jim Threapleton, has given his blessing to the union. "It's great to see her as happy as she is at the moment," he said. "I wish them both every success."
